THURSDAY NIGHT JAZZ
COMES TO KEYPORT’S FRONT STREET

Keyport, NJ – Enjoy cool sounds and cool breezes along the Keyport waterfront as the Keyport Business Alliance and Espresso Joe’s present the Thursday Night Jazz series.

The weekly series of live entertainment takes place from 6 until 8 p.m. every Thursday during July and August at the mini park, located at the intersection of Main and West Front Streets in downtown Keyport. The first Thursday in September is reserved for a rain date.

Thursday Night Jazz Series is the brainchild of Sonny Han and Ed Kok, proprietors of Espresso Joe’s on West Front Street, a SoHo-style coffeehouse in Keyport offering Internet access along with the usual iced lattes, paninis and light fare, egg crèmes and their own “grandesso” – four shots of espresso.

“Downtown Keyport is changing on a day-by-day basis, and we wanted to create a reason for people to come stroll around town and experience what’s happening here,” said Han, who researched and booked all of the performers for the series. “Keyport has so much to offer, and the marina park is a perfect place to enjoy dinner al fresco with live jazz for entertainment.”

The Thursday Night Jazz series features performers touching all shades of the jazz spectrum. The schedule includes:

July 1: Jerry Weinstein & Friends: With more than 50 years of singing jazz standards by the great American composers such as Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Rodgers and Hart, Jerome Kern, and Kurt Weill, Weinstein and friends will captivate audiences of all ages.

July 8: L.A. Love & The Rock infuses the soulful lyrics of popular music with a touch of jazz.

July 15 : The Jazz Delinquents perform contemporary jazz originals and jazz/fusion standards in the vein of Herbie Hancock, John Scofield and The Bad Plus.
