To Host KEYPORT, NJ – The best display of country & western food, fun and music this side of the Alamo rides into Keyport for the 7th Annual Country Jamboree & Chili Festival the weekend of October 4 and 5. The festivities roll into town along a two-block stretch of downtown Keyport, with the Main Stage on the waterfront and the Corral Stage on West Front Street., starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 4 and continuing until 9 p.m. that night. The Jamboree will run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 5. The rain or shine event, hosted by the Keyport Business Alliance and sponsors Bayshore Community Health Services, Shrewsbury State Bank, 94.3 The Point, Super Foodtown, Straub Motors and BarterPays!, will feature line dancing to live country music, a deejay, Wild West re-enactors, contests, games, and entertainment for children, as well as a wide range of vendors of country & western apparel, accessories, arts and crafts. The Chili Court will be home to a variety of food vendors, tempting the crowds with chili, barbecued ribs and chicken, grilled sausages, kebabs, steak sandwiches, corn on the cob, hot dogs, burgers, French fries, and more. Spirits of the Old West and the Legendary OK Cowboy will visit the crowd, and a bank “robbery” and shoot-out will take place at the Fleet Bank on Sunday. Activities will include pumpkin painting and scarecrow decorating contests on Saturday, pony rides and a petting zoo for children on both days, horse-drawn hay rides on Sunday, a rock climbing wall, and rides, games and activities for children in a kid’s zone at the Jamboree. There will be a country Bid & Buy auction from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Cake and pie-baking contests and a competition for best jam or jelly also will be held.
